Zubuntu v2.0 is available and can be downloaded here. The image is intended for spitz devices (SL-C3000, SL-C3100 and SL-C3200) but after a quick check most seems to work on the Akita (SL-C1000) as well.
Things I need to check on the Akita are suspend/resume (white screen, doesn't suspend) and the irda driver bails out with an error. More info can be found on my blog. Please be so kind to give your feedback, report problems, share fixes, enhancements etc. Have fun! Cheers, cortez |

No nano on default install -gasp-, aslactrl errors on boot too. Playing more ...
Configured network with usual annoyances [not nearly so annoying with andromedia ... curious why the differences?] apt-get install nano Segmentation faulty tree... 0% numerous apt-get updates fixed this one, apt-get upgrade lead to apt death. While updateing it errored out on aqualung ... then from that point on apt-get anything gets Illegal Instructions, even by its self. Continuing to fiddle. Not seen this one before. |

Alsa error seemed to go away after first boot.
Looking into the apt error, seems the powerpc folks had a similar issue link seems to be related to a bad libstdc++6 file, this is one of the files upgraded when I did the apt-get upgrade. Ah, btw this is all running on a SL-C1000 Akita, not a spitz. |

Redid the whole installation, kept the nano and rcconf debs seperate and copied the various conf's I changed to a ext3 cf card.
Just won't apt-get upgrade till its confirmed safe PS Alsa error was again on the first boot, but gone on the second. |

@Scottfla: Did you check your MD5SUMs? Small amounts of corruption can cause strange errors...

Yepa, its all good seeings as its meant for the 3x00 series. Waiting for more user feedback
Same as pToki's post, tweak a bit zaurus leds: echo mmc0 > /sys/class/leds/spitz\:green\:hddactivity/trigger echo ide-disk > /sys/class/leds/spitz\:amber\:charge/trigger if you like put it in /etc/init.d/zaurusd right after echo "starting zaurusd" this gives you blinking leds while accessing cards. |

apt-get install xfce4 ... ended up updating the same files as the apt-get upgrade tried to on the first installation. Apt-get is now fubared again.

Thank you Cortez!
Installed but no go for my socket wifi. It says 'failed to initialize firmware'. I've tried to use spectrum_cs fw from Debian (which works with the previous Zubuntu 1.0) but still no luck. Pretec works though. |

Please run "dmesg|tail" (without the quotes) after the insertion of the card, and post the result here |

Could you post the kernel zimage and updater.sh for 2.6.31-rc8-omegamoon-spitz?
