I'm trying to sort out the Great Steaming Pile that is bluetooth, specifically to get networking up and running.
I'm running pdaXii13 on the my 3000 and I want to be able to network it via bluetooth to another computer. Any computer will do - I've got a Macbook(OSX10.4), Libretto(WinXP), or an IBM(Kubuntu 6.10). The eventual goal is to use the Libretto as a wireless gateway to get the Z on the internet via bluetooth, but for the time being I'll accept getting any IP over BT connection running There doesn't seem to be much info that I can dig up on this, and it's driving me nuts. hcitool scan from the Z can see all three computers just fine, but I can't seem to get much past that point. Anyone done this successfully, or know of a good place to get started? Thanks! |

Thanks for the links! I managed to get a ping going from the Z to the IBM. Can't get it to recognize the PAN server on the libretto yet, though.
*edit* Getting closer. I cant get the pan server on the Libretto's BT to recognize the Z, so I tried the BT dongle. I can get it to connect to the Z no problem. Except that Microsofts BT stack doesn't allow for Internet connection sharing. Brilliance. The quest continues. |

meanie,
i've a little bug with bt networking after reinstalling fresh pdaxii13 5.3.1beta on my c3000 : the pin pairing with my nokia 6630 doesn't work in fact for it to work i have to change hcid.conf with a basic pin_helper /etc/bluetooth/givepin; and givepin: #!/bin/sh echo "PIN:1234" and then my nokia accepts the pairing... this is not much important but little pity it doesn't work out of the box |
