I recommend The Kompany ROM for the 5500. You can download the Applications for The Kompany ROM here. These applications include:
Opera Hancom Office Jeode (Java) Addressbook Datebook Updaterom Patience Todo Textedit You can see some screenshots here. |

I think we can reach a consensun here onthsi board that the Cacko ROM seems to be the best bet for a complete Sharp ROM compatibility as well as some juicy add-ons to the ROM and great functionality.
Its been stable like a rock too for me (though for me its on the C750). |

Cacko would be my ROM of choice if it didn't have so much stuff pre-installed (or at least an option/guide to uninstalling them)
I prefer TKC as it is more "Bare-bones" so I can install only the stuff I want. Horses for courses |

I've tried OZ/opie, Qtopia rom but they had a problem with resuming from suspend. Do you happen to have a belkin keyboard? I cannot seem to get it running with IRK. I have found the Sharp 3.13 ROM to be the best and the easiest to install, but then I've only tried OZ and the Sharp original and 3.10 so you can't go by me. The Sharp 3.13 has the CLEAREST instructions for installation of any software I have ever seen. If you have Windows XP it's a breeze to install THROUGH THE CRADLE and making sure the cradle is plugged into the adapter. You just do a couple of double-clicks with your mouse and wait for it to finish. You can download it here: http://www.elsix.org/downloads/CD-v313.zip The icons are UGLY but you can download and install an ipk called cool icons to rectify that problem and download screensavers, boot up screens and wallpaper to dress it up. |

ok, I am downloading 3.13 right now ...
btw, how is this "#2 SL5500 w/Hentges OZ 3.5.3 Opie 40-24" setup working for you? I tried OZ 3.5.3 and also QTopia ROM (from qtopia site) and both had issues with resuming. The touchscreen just remained in slumber land. Thoughts? QUOTE(tombraider @ Aug 4 2005, 12:08 PM) QUOTE(Bill Essig @ Dec 3 2004, 01:07 AM) Where can I download the latest rom for a 5500?
