I've taken his changes, and released a [very beta] version of KDEPIMPI for the Nokia Internet Tablet (the successor to my Zaurus SL6000). This version has some rough edges, and contains no substantial changes over the 2.2.7 release, but it does work on both the desktop and Nokia Tablet. The source code is available at the Maemo Garage website for KDEPIMPI. The code needs some changes make it fully workable on the Nokia Tablet. Once that happens, there will be a new group of users and potential developers to support the project. I think we should avoid forks here. Is it ok to send your patch to Zautrix or ask Zautrix to add you to the sourceforge project. For the record, I'm also interested in the KDEPIMPI development. And I will try keep it up-to-date in Angstrom. |

KDE-Pim/Pi is not dead and will never die. But for me KDE-Pim/Pi is currently almost feature complete. Such that I am doing not much development. I added some fixes and features to the 2.2.7 version. All that changes are released in the cvs during the last years. But I did not upload a new binary version. (Yes, I know: I was lazy. I just uploaded a new version 2.2.9 for Sharp Rom. z. That's great new, zautrix and good to hear from you.... THANKS for 2.2.9!! |

I'm really happy to hear that the project isn't dead, and that there's a new version available!

I did not want to fork kdepimpi...in fact, I've tried to get in touch with Zautrix before I set up the Maemo Garage site. I would be very happy to contribute my mimimal changes back to the main source code branch...though Michael Krelin did most of the work, including an angstrom port. Ideally, we can continue this via email. I'd like to discuss the details of getting the code from the Maemo Garage site back to the sourceforge site directly with Zautrix. For the record, I'm also interested in the KDEPIMPI development. And I will try keep it up-to-date in Angstrom. |

Hello Lutz,
what a surprise to hear from you! It's great to see that KDEPIM/PI is still - well - maintained (if not "actively under development" anymore). The vanishing of pi-sync.net and the fact that version 2.2.7 now is almost 3 years old suggested that you dropped the project entirely. How about the sync features? As far as I understood, you intended to make KDEPIM/PI compatible with a lot of sync partners, also using SyncML, and also with Outlook. Any plans for KO/PI Outlook sync under Windows? I must admit I have switched to outlook and Windows Smartphone for the PIM stuff now, this is necessary for me for my work, and I actually hate it. OTOH I don't want to maintain more than one calendar / todo list etc., so I switched away from KO/PI, although I really, really liked it (as you know :-). Having outlook sync would again allow useds like me to use KO/PI while not having to maintain different calendars. And thanks for 2.2.9! Will anyone compile it for pdaXrom? :-) Thanks daniel |

I gave up to support many sync partners because the interfaces are changing all the time and if I implement a solution which works today perhaps will not work with the next version... I have a smart phone as well which I am syncing with Outlook. Because the most important data on a smartphone are the contacts for me I implemented the KA/Pi Outlook sync. To implement the syncing of KO/Pi with Outlook is not complicated for the syncing itself. It is complicated to implement a solution for all the different recurring rules which makes sense. Such that I cannot say when I will implement a KO/Pi <-> Outlook sync. The KA/Pi <-> Outlook sync will be available when I upload the new version for windows - maybe in 1-4 weeks. z. |
