I'd put pdaXrom 1.1.0beta1 on, it was all working fine. Put it to suspend.
Next time I come to use it, it wouldn't come back on at all. Removed battery, and tried it, nothing, nothing came up on screen, no responce to on button being pressed, no responce to OK and on button being pressed either. Managed to get it to go into the Maintenance Menu (D+M). Did a NAND flash restore to original rom. Still nothing when turned on, even when power connected. Is it dead? any ideas?? Now for some reason, if power cable is plugged in, the power and mail lights flash constantly. And it won't go into D+M menu. Gotten it to boot tot he D+M menu and done a flash restore. Did a checksum on the flash, got a NG on 'Preset'. Kelly This post has been edited by kellyharding: Jul 28 2006, 02:21 PM |

OK, leaving it to charge for a bit, it now seems to want to goto the boot menu... tempermental thing or what!
(I'm using the charger from my old SL-5500, that shouldn't cause any problems should it? (it is a offical Sharp charger) Kelly |

The charger will not be causing any problems unless it is faulty.
Looks like NAND problems to me. |

QUOTE(Mjolinor @ Jul 29 2006, 11:55 AM) I did notice I get 3 badblocks ont he NAND checks in the D+M menu. But leaving it for 10 minutes with the charger connected seemed to sort it out. I think the battery was uttery flat and/or the connection was a bit iffy perhaps. Working again without issues now. Kelly |

Hi Kelly,
i wouldn't worry too much about this. It looks like you ran into the typical Zaurus-trap: Battery was drained and "normal" boot will not start without a minimum charge level. It can take up to 15 minutes with the original charger (EA-70) until a Zaurus with a fully discharged battery comes back to life. And this is exactly what happened to you. ///TRIsoft Marc Stephan |

Still, it all worked again after a bit of a panic Kelly |

2.4 Kernel battery support as a whole is pretty spotty.... the software could tell you one thing... and it really be a 20% +/- difference then the actual...
One improvement with the move is 2.6 is better apm support Late |

QUOTE(InSearchOf @ Jul 31 2006, 04:34 PM) I think for now I'll stick with RC12, beta1 seemed to have a number of odd behaviours, which haven't occured with RC12 yet. Beta4 iirc won't boot on a C860 due to some bug or other? so I'll hold off upgrading. I did try OZ/gpe and OZ/opie, but found them to be no better really. Kelly |
