I've been happy with Linksys WCF-12 for ages, but I could do with something which sticks out less. I don't suppose anyone has seen anything which doesn't stick out at all; if not, what's the smallest thing available at the moment?
Cheers, Si P.S. Random, and OT, but I wonder if bluetooth & wifi CF combo cards are available...? |

I take it that means there aren't any (which is a shame), so the next best thing - how long is your wifi card...?
Mine's a Linksys WCF-12 which is 60mm long. I'm after the shortest sticky-outy-bit I can find (so mine's 60-36.5 = 23.5mm of sticky-outy-ness which is awkward and feels like it might get snapped off in my pocket, etc.). Anyone else out there with a wifi card and ruler handy...? Si |

56mm with 21mm sticky-out Maybe this could be part of Hrw's CF-card database he has suggested? Greg |

I would also love a WiFi card that doesnt stick out much. Something like the socket bluetooth cards would be awesome, would make my 5600 more like a Sl6000 then.

D-Link DCF-650W Sticks out 50mm did you really mean 50mm aka 5cm? Zonet mercury ZCF1100 card, sticks 17mm out of my Sl-C860 |

I had an Intel Wireless/PRO 2011b card which is 2.18 x 1.69 x 0.13 in. (55.4 x 42.8 x 3.3 mm). As it is used for OEM chip in several other cards (Sony Pega WL-100) it does not have a bulging plastic cover on the sticky side, but the whole card is completely flat instead. So it is quite probably the most compact card out there.
Its reception range was slightly lower than my current Pretec and Zonet Mercury NL-2511CF (pink) cards. Also, firmware must be loaded into it on start, so it is a bit slow to get reception. On the other hand, it has two built-in and exposed U.FL plugs for external antennas. |
