hi --
there are a lot of old[er] files on zaurus.spy.org -- and I am wondering if they're really all that useful anymore -- even for archival purposes. I'm debating removing most of the zaurus archives. I'm watching accesses for the various pages, and it's usually very light -- >90% of accesses are for screen background images. CODE | File |~File | Dir |~Dir | Ln |+w | Ki |~Ki | Item +------ +----- +----- +---- +--- +-- +-------- +--- +-------------- | 8 | 0 | 1 | 0 | 1 | 0 | 238174 | 0 | dvd-cacko | 454 | 0 | 46 | 0 | 6 | 0 | 572651 | 0 | dvd-mycacko | 1508 | 0 | 238 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 1548602 | 0 | dvd-pdaxtra1 | 2128 | 0 | 249 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 2626155 | 0 |dvd-cacko-rc10 | 3423 | 0 | 32 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 3202520 | 0 | dvd-xrom-b13 | 4135 | 0 | 104 | 0 | 9 | 0 | 4136349 | 0 | dvd-pdaXrom | 14314 | 0 | 887 | 0 | 60 |33 | 4508167 | 0 | dvd-zaurus +------ +----- +----- +---- +--- +-- +-------- +--- +-------------- | 25970 | 0 | 1557 | 0 | 67 |33 |16832618 | 0 | Totals There are files like 1.0.5, 1.1.0, multiple releases from 2004 when it seemed like there was a major release every two weeks, beta1/beta2/beta3, rc12, etc... I know it's difficult to tell what's listed just by dirnames -- but if there's any interest at all, I could do a ls -R and post that (large) file. Scott |

it's a tough decision... the problem with the zaurus scene is that sometimes people who have useful archives might not have much of a backup as they assume everyone else has one, or they lose interest and by the time we discover the site has gone and there was no mirror or snapshot with backup it's too late.
I'd say take an archive to DVD and leave a listing available "just in case" so that if there was a desperate plea then contents could be recovered. If you want to free up space, I could let you upload files into my zaurus.org.uk web space before deleting? |

er, right... I've got plenty of backups of this -- as you can see, the areas are divided into dvd sized chunks.
I was planning on leaving a dir listing -- but it just seems so much like a tease. what I'm going to do is watch the stats for a few more months... and anything that's still getting references will be left around. Perhaps down to 1 dvd or something. Scott |

imho, the rc11,rc12,beta1,beta3 and the various contrib feeds are worth keeping, and btw, the beta3 feeds are actually missing last time I checked...

Please bring back /feeds/jedhead/ the excellent PdaXrom Themes site that was a major resource for the community. The Internet Wayback machine is incomplete at best.

I apologize -- when I looked at the site, I thought it was dead.
I'll grab the data off my dvd backups and set it back up to the site. I haven't been able to figure out how to get a new rom or a modern c++ + qt on my clamshell and it seemed that sharp killed off the zaurus line -- so it just seemed like zaurus was dead. I'll post here when I locate the date and have it online. Scott ps: if anyone wants to actively MANAGE a theme site, I'd be willing to provide the access. |
