Hi all - after a week of connectivity/response issues with ibiblio, I decided to move the forums to an alternate hosting provider.
We shouldn't see the same performance issues as we did before. Thanks for your patience, and please share your thoughts/feedback. offroadgeek |

Everything is working again offroadgeek!
I'm sorry you had to bother with this when you have so many other things going on. I hope all goes well with your moving and finding another job. Thanks Greg |

This is weird... I am accessing the forum on my zaurus without any modification to my bookmarks, and it all seems to be working just fine.
I tried accessing it from my laptop, and I get redirected to a "Main Page" at 66.33.198.243... and if I click on OE Forums, it seems to take me to the forums, but if I try to log in or anything, it takes me right back to the "Main Page". I did not change the bookmarks on my laptop either. What am I doing wrong (or right)? I entered this post on my zaurus. Doug |

I entered http://www.oesf.org/forums/ in the address bar and I am in on my laptop now. I got the address from my zaurus. Thanks for a quick fix. You really take care of business, and it is greatly appreciated. Doug |

Hey, offroadgeek, any chance we can get a fix to the isssue explained in this thread?
http://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=10229 This should be very simple to set up, but will help to keep old links to ZUG forums working. |

It's much better now. Same speed as ibiblio, and it's not down when I feel like (or have time to) use the forums.
THumbs up, definitely. Thanks a lot for taking care of it. |

Hi!
Yes, everything fine now, When I try to access some (maybe 3 or 4) topics they will simply not appear and give some kind of 'not found' error. Why? And, what happend to the feed? When I click on the link it says: 'Forbidden You don't have permission to access /feed/ on this server. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. ' Have I done something wrong? Or just not being patient enough? Thanks for all the hard work!! |

We shouldn't be missing a single topic from the moves. I shut down the forums prior to doing the backups and moves, so no one could even post once it was shut down. How did you find that some topics are missing? Can you provide links to the 'not found' errors? QUOTE(JoP @ Jan 31 2005, 04:03 AM) And, what happend to the feed? QUOTE How did you find that some topics are missing? Can you provide links to the 'not found' errors? Sure! I made a search, and when I surf through the results, some won't appear. This is the '500 Internal Server Error' I got: """Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@oesf.org and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error. More information about this error may be available in the server error log. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. """ when trying to access (e.g.): Hybrid Rom and Please Help... Actually links to topics work, it's just after a search that they don't, so if you leave the link like: http://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=8605 instead of: http://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=8605&hl=hybrid,and,sync it will work. Feed works!!! Thanks a lot! |

One thing that has been persistently an issue since the move is the "new" content icons don't seem to behave themselves.
Before the move I could look through the forums, decide what I wanted to read (or not) and then go read some other site. Later when I would come back to read the forums the main IPB icons would show new content by being "brighter" in color. Each thread would have an icon showing new posts. Now when I return the IPB still works as before, but the thread icons remain active even for items posted many days ago. I've tried "reading" through threads not of interest to see if they would clear out. I don't think this worked very well. It is also tedious and shouldn't be necessary. I've also tried clearing my cookies, but this also seems to be of no value. My usual routine, FWIW, is to go to zaurususergroup.org and then, using Mozilla, tab browse to the oesf.org/forums. Any clues to how to get the "new content in thread" icon to behave itself? |
