glHack 1.2-1
Homepage: http://glhack.sourceforge.net/ NetHack is a single player dungeon exploration game that runs on a wide variety of computer systems, with a variety of graphical and text interfaces all using the same game engine. Unlike many other Dungeons & Dragons-inspired games, the emphasis in NetHack is on discovering the detail of the dungeon and not simply killing everything in sight - in fact, killing everything in sight is a good way to die quickly. Each game presents a different landscape - the random number generator provides an essentially unlimited number of variations of the dungeon and its denizens to be discovered by the player in one of a number of characters: you can pick your race, your role, and your gender. This is the SDL graphical version of Nethack 3.4.3.

The allowed options are: 16 (the good old small tiles), 32 (nice-looking big tiles) and 64 (fancy isometric 3D tiles.) Sangband 1.0.0-1 (Final Release) Homepage: http://www.runegold.org/sangband/ A truly interesting and sophisticated variant of Angband (or "the *bands"). This SDL version features full graphical tiles (8x8, 16x16 and 32x32), sound effects and even background music! My favourite *band (besides Xangband). To quote from the official page: "There are many ways to die. There are as many ways to win. The choices you make among skills, the plunder from vaults and fallen foes, the objects you forge, your growing tactical prowess - all will shape your adventure. Will you take the Oath of Iron to learn the most powerful warrior arts? Will you stand staunch for the Light - or choose the way of blood and necromancy? A Shadow Paladin, a Mage Engineer, a Loresmith, a Skirmisher - all can topple the Dark Lord from his dark throne."

Quasar Media Player 0.9b3-1
Website: http://katastrophos.net/andre/blog/softwar...r-media-player/ Description quoting from the program website: "Quasar Media Player is ... a decent, fast and convenient media player for the Zaurus and other Qt(opia)-based (mobile) systems. It offers many of the features we’ve come to appreciate in modern media players on the desktop, like fast library overview and filtering along with the ability to handle large libraries very well. It adds several unique features that give it unprecedented flexibility on a mobile device, like auto-generated playlists from a set of locations (e.g. adds files from the internal Music directory + from a Media directory on an inserted SD card), a fast location-independent database backend based on SQLite and flexible support and handling of cover art images. Quasar is highly configurable and can be operated completely via the keyboard or remote control, which makes it more versatile and easier to control than via touchscreen alone." A screenshot:

From the Debian package page: http://packages.debian.org/sid/vlc
VLC is the VideoLAN project's media player. It plays MPEG, MPEG2, MPEG4, DivX, MOV, WMV, QuickTime, mp3, Ogg/Vorbis files, DVDs, VCDs, and multimedia streams from various network sources. VLC can also be used as a streaming server that duplicates the stream it reads and multicasts them through the network to other clients, or serves them through HTTP. VLC has support for on-the-fly transcoding of audio and video formats, either for broadcasting purposes or for movie format transformations. Support for most output methods is provided by this package, but features can be added by installing additional audio plugins (vlc-plugin-esd, vlc-plugin-sdl, vlc-plugin-arts) or video plugins (vlc-plugin-sdl, vlc-plugin-ggi, vlc-plugin-glide, vlc-plugin-svgalib). There is also a web browser plugin in the mozilla-plugin-vlc package. This package seems to be uninstallable in the official feeds, so try these if that is the case. vlc_0.8.6.c-3

smplayer_0.5.62-1
Homepage: http://smplayer.sourceforge.net/ SMPlayer intends to be a complete front-end for MPlayer, from basic features like playing videos, DVDs, and VCDs to more advanced features like support for MPlayer filters and more. One of the most interesting features of SMPlayer: it remembers the settings of all files you play. So you start to watch a movie but you have to leave... don't worry, when you open that movie again it will resume at the same point you left it, and with the same settings: audio track, subtitles, volume...
