I found this SDHC driver for the Sharp ROM on a blog called "Puchi no izu":
http://petit-noise.net/download/sdhc-driver The author (bucchi) says that he has experienced good stability but, as always, try at your own risk. The driver supports up to 32 GB. I installed it on my SL-C750 with Sharp ROM. Mounted and accessed files, no problems: 2 GB SanDisk (Class 2) 8 GB SanDisk Ultra 2 (Class 4) I didn't do any speed tests or any writing. I also tried an 8 GB SanDisk Ultra (Class 4) - would not mount, but dmesg showed the partitions were found. The automounter only looks for VFAT I guess and the VFAT partition is one of the extended partitions. All the others are ext2. I will look into mounting this one manually. This driver is much better packaged than the C-guys one. If you try it, please reply to this thread with your results. Thanks. |

I just backed up my Cacko/Zubuntu setup and installed the new driver.
Rebooted Cacko and inserted Kingston 4gb sdhc. It automounted! Was able to access and play mp3 files I stuck on there just to see if it would work. This is an amazing update for Z!!! Think of all the files I can carry around and still keep my CF slot open for wifi. Thanks for letting us know about this driver... |

Backed up both Z and SD (better safe than sorry).
(Imagine Smash Bros Announcer here:) "SUCCESS!" 3200 Cacko 1.23 Full (thinking of flashing to lite later) 8 GB SanDisk SDHC *sniffle* My terrier's all grown up... Oh, I Babelfished the blog (works better than Live translate, seems) and I was wondering, did the dude-guy say on there to uninstall any previous SD drivers before installing these ones? Did just be sure. Still can't wrap my head around the possibilities now... |

I tried installing it on my sl-c860, but the ipk wouldn't install, said something went wrong.
I tried uninstalling the sdmmc-module I had installed that let me use the 4gb sd card, and tried installing again but it still failed. any suggestions? |

You need the original Sharp SD module, since the package patches that.

Amazing, so far this driver is working great on 2gig cards that I was never able to use before with the regular sharp driver (had a limit of 1gig). Copied files to it until it was practically full then read them again. Going to test a 4gig one when I get chance.
Thanks! Great find! |

Tested on my Akita with Cacko 1.23
4GB Non-HC SD works 4GB SDHC works 16GB Class 10 SDHC works Awesome find, some other good stuff on that blog also Google Maps downloader and a couple of gps apps. @nwt1103 I uninstalled the sdmmc module from cacko, rebooted, then installed the sdhc driver and it rebooted. after that everything was golden. Now i use a SDHC card for both 2.4 and 2.6 distros. |

Today is Xmas
I have a Fujifilm 4GB SD card and it was not possible to use this card with C1000 (ROM 1.01JP) and tetsu-SD-Driver 1.0. When i tried the zaurus fell in a endless loop and a soft reset was required. Now with bucchi 2.1 SDHC-Driver the card is recognized! Thank you very much! |

Thank you!
I was under the impression that Cacko would never utilize 4GB and up SDHC cards. After installing this, my Sandisk Ultra2 4GB card loaded just fine under Cacko. BTW, smaller SD cards are becoming rare these days. Local brick and mortar stores only carry 2GB and larger cards now. |

I have had three hard locks on resume since installing this driver but I'm not convinced this driver is the fault. On every occasion I had my 4gig SD card inserted and Grisbi from pdaxqtrom running when I had suspended the Zaurus. I'll do more testing and update this post if I discover anything else. At the very least I can hopefully just remove the SD card before suspending the Zaurus. This driver enables too great a feature to remove now.

hi all, anyone tell me how to uninsatall the old sd card driver so i can install the new one. I do have tree explorer file manger. Thanks in advance, ps i am running cacko on c860. If you have the standard Cacko modules then you simply apply the ipk. If like me you had used the ipk, from pelrun?, that broke the 1GB barrier just remove it with the uninstall option and install the new ipk. You do need a reboot or two along the way. The installer prompts you. Since you have the 860 you need to download the specific ipk from the link in the earlier post for the 860. The ipks have English titles. Cheers |

I am sure i have got the right ipk. not sure what to try now. keef |

Have you tried any large SD cards(>2GB)? That is the best way to see if it worked.
You can also try installing it from the console to see what errors it is giving you. |
