I've been experiencing problems, like so many other users it seems!, with the Symbol Spectrum CF WLAN Card, the card can connect but then nothing else actually works.

Neither NetFront or Opera work and I've triend Ping to test some destinations on the internal (LAN) and external (WAN) networks, none of which work.

Oddly, however the Zaurus cannot ping the Cisco router which assigned it its network configuration over DHCP in the first place!

I've attempted configuring the network for DHCP and non-DHCP operation, neither working; although the Cisco router maintains connectivity to the Symbol's MAC address, so it knows its there!

I must be missing something really simple, but I'm just spending my time checking and re-configuring iwconfig and ifconfig to no avail.

Any help would be great!

Russell

Do you get this problem with WEP (open) and MAC filtering off? Both can let the Z attach to the access point, but not let it send any packets through. I think only wep (shared) would kick you off.

After spending a week trying to work this one out, the moment I post for help I manage to get it working!
It seems that the Zaurus / Spectrum would only work if the essid is omitted, therefore before connecting I used iwconfig to set the WEP key but nothing else and then it worked perfectly!

Thanks for you help!
