I just did a dist-upgtrade on my freshly installed debian eabi using the official debian source (so I changed it) and now it is unbootable. It seems to take FOREVER while booting the kernel and then just hangs. It still suspends though if I press the power button. I just don't get any login prompt.
So is it not recomended to do a dist-upgrade? Just install stuff you need and not worry about the versions? Or did I just possibly do something wrong. Anyone else done this successfully? |

I would think a dist-upgrade to be a bit risky as there are z specific files we use that are not in the main reps, so changing from one version to another would cause conflicts on numerous levels (just my opinion).
