Hey all..
What offline www readers are you guys using? I trield a couple listed on killfiz.de/zaurus but none of them would install. I'm sure that some people out there are able to use Opera for reading the latest sports news in style during their morning commute.. so what are you guys using? And what are some good sites you all have found to pull content from daily? -Ben |

You could use wget. Standard on every Zaurus.

There has to be something better than 'wget'. I tried it for awhile, but it's just not that suited for doing very select spidering of websites. That is.. unless someone has created a great script to manage the offline browser with wget.
But there has to be some comprehsive spidering application out there.. or somebody must have gotten one of the web-cache programs from killefiz.de working... Remaining optimistic, Ben |

I used to use Mazingo to read selected sites (Yahoo! News, USA Today, etc), but they've gone belly up. Since then, I've started using Plucker, which gives pretty good control over spidering of sites, etc. The two disadvantages I find: 1) the Plucker Desktop doesn't handle cookies & I haven't taken the time to learn how to use any of the alternate Distillers which do; 2) Plucker writes the downloaded sites to PalmDoc files & I don't like the PalmDoc readers that I've tried on the Zaurus (DocReader, JustReader, OpieReader & ZReader) as well as I liked using Opera or Konqueror to read sites from Mazingo.
To check Plucker out for yourself, visit: http://www.plkr.org/ The sites I currently pluck on a daily basis are: http://www.latimes.com/wireless/avantgo/ http://pocket.usatoday.com/palm/ http://wap.oa.yahoo.com/raw?dp=news |
