Hi there, does anybody know whether the SL-C3200 has an internal (user-replaceable) backup battery? I'm asking as--since a few weeks--the date on my SL-C3200 (yonggun's debian andromeda installed) always jumps back to the 01.01.1970 upon resetting. Any other ideas/solutions? Thank you very much!

I'm pretty sure the newer clamshells don't have a backup battery.
I may be wrong, but as far as I know, the 5500/5600 are the only Zaurii with a backup battery. The 6000 may have a backup battery also, I'm not sure. Pics attached are from a 5500.

I'm under the same impression: No backup battery.

I'm under the same impression: No backup battery. Confirming that there is no backup battery. But reverting to 1970-01-01 after reset (without battery removal) is a purely software issue. C3200 has RTC clock, but Sharp ROM and derivates don't handle it correctly. OpenEmbedded and Angstrom does it (or nearly does it - it may have a problem with time zone). |
