Ummm....What?
QUOTE ...the Giga Vu Pro contains a 40 or 60 GB hard drive... NOTE:Keyboards cost about....50$. QUOTE ...plus an appropriate complement of peripherals and interfaces,...USB 2.0 mass storage connection, generic USB client connection...TV output (PAL/NTSC selectable)... It's got MORE ports than the Zaurus. It's got a bigger screen (Although QVGA resolution, and a smaller screen than the Zaurus SL-6000).It's got a 60 GB HDD. WHAT ELSE DO YOU WANT???? |

Hey Padishah ,
I see that you have moved over to the Yopy camp - so just wanted to get some feedback - how does the Yopy feel like and perform (compared to the Zaurus ?) I used to follow the Yopy' forums way back, but slowly they seemd to be dying out - not much activity software wise and forum interaction wise. Now that I see you out there - whats your take on it ? What kind of apps are there and what is the development activity like ? Sorry to hijack this thread for a another subject - dint know where to ask Padishah about this ... But just to keep the thread topical - I will chip in tooo. - toooo pricey for GIGs of storage and music and video player. |

It's an interesting machine for sure, I'd be interested to see what people start doing with it, doesn't seem to have Qtopia, so I'd like to see that ported or Opie. The Archos is still quite appealing though... @nilch: I'll PM my reply ;-) |

It looks very cool. I'd love video out on my z.
as far as qt/opie and, while we're at it, yopy (and maybe pdaxrom) It seem more and more to me that a good X11 rom with a qt/x11 layer as Shaddam suggests the yopi has (and maybe pdaxrom?) is really a great way to go. Not that I have any idea wht this gadget has for a gui. |

Not that I have any idea wht this gadget has for a gui. I think it has some kind of proprietary menu system - of course I'm guessing, I've not found any hard facts in the tech specs. Generally, to come back to the point you made, I'd love to see a generic solution which works on everything that provides X11 and Qtopia (or Opie) by default, have apps etc run off storage cards. I think it's possible too using the build systems as Lardman suggested, I'm just not up to the job myself, but I'll certainly read up more about it in the coming months. ;-) |
