first off i am not a linux genius, ive installed and setup gentoo and debian both with out using there quick and easy setup systems, doing it manualy, so i am ok with linux but not great.
what i want to be able to do with the zaurus is to run a apache server for devolpment purposes, i need it to be able to work with mysql and ruby on rails or it is not going to work. ive read through the forum but i havnt found some one that uses all three of these, although i havnt spent more then 20min reading through posts, so i might not have found it yet. so the questoin boils down to, is it possible to run apache, mysql, ruby on rails on the zaurus? i believe its possible but i am kinda hoping some one already has a quick how to or guide on how to set these up and get them running. i already want the zaurus but i need something thats portable that i can use on comuting back and forth form work that i can work on a little web design and right now its a choice between a laptop and the zaurus, i dont want to lug around a laptop plus at my current job they dont allow them to be used, but theydo allow a PDA so the zaurus is perfect from my opinion as long as it can run apache, mysql and ruby on rails anyway thanks in advance found out yes it is possible thanks |
