Hi,
Where does one find kernel source for various ROMS/devices? I'm looking at compiling a few extra modules and need the sources to be able to do this. I'd also like to investigate what the pdaXrom kernel (patches?) would be like on Cacko. It appears that all the 3rd party ROM kernels are based off patched versions of the original Sharp ROM's kernel. Is this right? i.e. pdaXrom and Cacko both use the original 2.4.18 sharp ROM, but with their own compiliations / patches added? Are the newer 2.4.20 kernel sources (SL-C3000) available? Anybody tried this on older devices / 3rd party ROM's? If so, where does one get the original ROM, and where does one get the patches for each popular ROM (or even better, is there a kernel tree maintained for each project)? I've been Googling, but I can't find much. Apologies if this is obvious. |

If you do a search on these forums for Cacko Kernel Source you should find some links to the patch tarball that you need to apply to the Stock Sharp Kernel Source.
The tarball is called cacko_ROM_kernel-1.21.tar.bz2, can't remember the URL though. In the cacko-patches subdirectory in the archive there is a file called .apply_in_this_order which details the order for the patches (in case that isn't obvious Hope this helps, - Andy |

Thanks :-)
Notice there's already a hostap firmware upload patch there - I didn't think the kernel in 1.21b had hostap (I installed a third party ipk; unless all that ipk did was to change entries in my pcmcia config to load hostap_cs instead of prism2_cs?) |
