Hi Everyone,
I need to get an ISO or an archive of the original 6000 installation CD. Anyone have it? The link on Sharp's site actually gives you the 5500 CD, not the 6000 CD! And I found a link on this site by searching, but the file is no longer there. Any help would be appreciated! J |

Hi,
On SHARP USA website here, it works fine for me. I could download the EXE file (25Mb) and then execute it to extract all the files in a directory. |

QUOTE(scheck.r @ Jul 9 2005, 06:25 PM) Hi, On SHARP USA website here, it works fine for me. I could download the EXE file (25Mb) and then execute it to extract all the files in a directory. Thanks for the reply, but that is the site I'm referring to. It seems like a 6000 CD from the site, but if you expand it, take a look at some of the files... it's in fact a 5500 CD... Any more pointers? |

I am in the same boat. I bought a refurbished Zaurus 6000 from Amazon and it came with no CD. Have searched everywhere for the install CD to no avail. I did find this thread in this forum (I will try it next):
http://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showt...installation+cd It talks about an upgrade download for the 5500 that works for the 6000, but I would rather have the original disk image. If someone has a cd, I am willing to provide ftp access so you can upload it, and I will be happy to host in on one of my sites. I will do the same if Sharp customer support actually provides me with a CD. Cheers |

I've just made a copy of my CD. It appears from the CD label to support both the SL-6000N AND the SL-6000L models. Where do you want me to upload the zipped file (40.7 MB) to? |

Oak,
I sent you a message via this forum's control panel with upload information. Please reply here if you did not get it. QUOTE(the_oak @ Jul 14 2005, 05:39 AM)

Uploaded the file a little while ago. Please unzip it and verify it is not corrupt and that it works OK.

Two items of note:
1. I did verify that the upgrade thread/link earlier in this topic worked for the 6000. 2. Thanks to The Oak for uploading a copy of his cd. You can download it and the md5 check file from http://www.spazpics.com/zaurus/ I haven't had a chance to install yet, but verified my downloaded copy against the md5 sum and unzipped successfully. This forum has proven to be faster than Sharps support site, as I have yet to hear back from them. |

FWIW I also bought a refurb SL-6000 from Amazon, presumably from the same reseller as other readers... and it *did* come with a CD, albeit a one-off copy with a handwritten label. So perhaps feedback did some good here, if only for a short time, as I seem to have gotten the last one for now (Amazon.com notes the SL-6000 is now currently unavailable.)
