now that the Palm's ROM has been hacked and extracted, perhaps we'll see a port onto the Zaurus!
http://www.precentral.net/pre-developer-ro...ngcustomization I'm downloading the 195MB image, it'll be interesting to try and chroot and run stuff from it. |

My newest toy is the T-Mobile G!. There are various roms for this lying about. Have you thought about playing with these? It is Android and the latest hacked rom I am using is for Cupcake the 1.5 Android. Cheers |

Interesting stuff, but the OMAP34xx processor which the Pre uses prevents us from using it on the Zaurus.
I tried (you never know) but the code dies with an "Illegal instruction" |

Folks on OpenMoko mailing lists are saying that the Pre's OS is even more open than Android's. There may be some hope yet! Would be nice if the phone stack could work on the OM. Still, the Pre uses a full keyboard, so an on-screen keyboard would need to be hacked in, i believe.
