Does anyone know if the EA-BL06 works in the C1000? Or what the mAh rating is for EA-BL06? (It is 1800 mAh for C1000.)

It would work, but you'd have an adventure getting it out (the C1000 battery is ~50% thicker). It would also only last a fraction of the time the EA-BL08 lasts.

My C1000 came with an EA-BL11 battery.
(I bought it second hand from eBay.) Is BL08 what usually came with them?

I think the EA-BL08 is a lower-capacity EA-BL11, but physically the same.
