As so many of the posts start:
"I just got a new 5500, and..." "I have read a ton of stuff online, but..." I'm hoping that my relatively finite objectives for the Zaurus 5500, will point to a clear winner among the existing ROMs. I would like my Z to run the following programs: -python -vim -any mp3 player -any internet browser -simple games (sudoku and mindbreaker type stuff) -any jpeg viewer -calendar, to do list, etc Which ROM would you recommend? Note: I'm totally new to unix except for the OS X terminal. Also, I plan to put a 1Gb SD card and a 802.11b or g CF card in it. Any recommendations on what to get (or not get). Thank you. |

QUOTE(Hrw @ Aug 15 2006, 11:41 AM) I second that. OZ works really good on my Collie. I have even installed blackdown Java and am considering installing Jython. KDE PIM is awesome. The alarms ring. qpealarm beats out any software I have used on anything, including all three of my previous palm pilots. Networking works great with my Belkin wifi card using konqueror. I even did my email using my Collie during a boring meeting without anyone noticing. Chris-- |

I haven't installed python yet, and don't like vim, but I'm doing all the rest on my 5500 with the Sharp 3.13 ROM. (I added OTR player & opera 7, using stock PIMs) |
