I'm on the list for getting one for $300 and they donate the other 2 somewhere else. Don't know if it will go through though. I don't think we'll get enough pledges.
The last video I saw of it running it was running a stripped down Fedora Core 5 install. |

We are waiting for rev B devboards to come available to test on, and are discussing if we want to support it in Ångström, since the OLPC is a touchy political subject. |

why would olpc os hacking be touchy, assuming you are working on an open source os?

As is said before: OE support isn't the problem, the political side is. You could even use OE to build the linuxbios used, so software hackability isn't the problem. |

what are the political issues exactly? you mention them however i dont see a problem with running your own firmware on a device you have purchased
