Hello to everybody on this forum!!!
It is the first time on it, and well, as I read the different posts, I was very afraid. Let me explain: I just bought a SL- C1000 and wanted to have it in English. But, I am not very talented in informatics, so I read a lot of forums and find this one. I flash my PDA with the trisoft rom. Infortunately, I don't have the Japanese language anymore. I am a student in japanese and I wanted to write my texts on word, using the PDA. But I was afraid to use it in japanese. Now, I want to reconvert my PDA (sorry if I don't use the "rights terms") in japanese. I tried a lot of time to install the cacko rom, but didn't succed. I can't have the 3 files, above all the tools.tar.............. The second semester is beginning soon, so please help me! |

could you describe to us what procedure you are using to flash the cacko rom? It is hard to troubleshoot what you may be doing wrong if we don't know what you are doing.
Woops! I forgot to say "welcome to the world of the Z" |

Cacko rom is not so good for Japanese either, ie it is like TRISoft ROM without Japanese. It is best for you if you do a factory reset which will make your Z Japanese again, and then convert your Z to English using different method, ie by changing the locale to en, or just do what I did |

You can get the original Japanese Sharp ROM at Conics.
http://downloads.conics.net/pda/zaurus-sl-...iginal-backups/ Get the "SL-C1000-JPN-NAND-original.zip" Also have a look at Meanie's website for a lot of useful tips using Sharp ROM. It's linked in his signature. |
