QUOTE(speculatrix @ Apr 9 2006, 06:22 PM) I bought textmaker for linux x86 and asked them if they would do a deal for the zaurus textmaker version and they said no :-( Too bad. In my case they actually emailed links and codes for both the Desktop AND later the Zaurus version when I asked. Have forgotten who I asked. |

if you could find out, I'd be very grateful! I actually wanted textmaker more for my Z than for x86 (where I can run OO for the occasions I want it), and was not too happy to discover I'd have to pay nearly full price for Z license :-/ especially when the Z version seems somewhat dated now.

If it helps, I communicated with the Textmaker main office, and I emailed a woman there, but I can't recall nor find her name.

QUOTE(daniel3000 @ Mar 29 2006, 11:09 AM) It is. If you study the website carefully there is a hint that upgrading to Textmaker 2006 for Zaurus will be 34.00 Euro or, if you purchased the last version after 2005-07-01, 10 Euro. See this page: http://www.softmaker.com/english/tmq_en.htm Quoting: "Special price until TextMaker 2006 is released. You can then upgrade to TextMaker 2006 for Windows for only EUR 10 or US$ 10, respectively. Customers who purchased TextMaker before July 1, 2005 can upgrade to TextMaker 2006 for only EUR 34.95 (Europe) or US$ 34.95 (outside Europe)." daniel I don't see how that is a clue that a "TextMaker for Zaurus 2006" is coming out. These are prices for a TextMaker for Windows/Zaurus bundle, and you'll notice that they only mention upgrading the Windows version. Given how little support they have given for TextMaker in the last few years and the relatively small user base the Zaurus has, I would be very surprised if they released a new version of TextMaker for the Zaurus. That said, I would almost certainly upgrade if they did do it. |

From my experience with Softmaker I wouldn't expect it to happen before July or so, but probably still this year (otherwise it wouldn't make sense to call it Textmaker 2006). daniel |
