Has anyone set up their zaurus to dial out through a bluetooth phone to access the internet? I did it with my pc and would really love to do it with my zaurus.

Thanks guys, I guess I'll go buy a CF bluetooth card now that I know it is possible. I can't get the usb dongle that I have to work on the zaurus.

QUOTE(bluedevils @ Oct 1 2006, 12:50 PM) Hi bluedevils, how fast is connection this way with a Bluetooth card connection to the phone ? If its good, I am thinking I will also go this way, since now I don't have free wifi (or even paid) anywhere near where I work. |

on sprint I was getting 270kBps download. I can surf ok. Opera and netfront seem to be more of the problem as they sometimes crash on very graphical sites. Gaim is a breeze and I download mail and attachments not a problem.
On the other hand this should never be considered a primary internet connection. edit: I think I put down kbps when it should have kBps |

BTW the bottleneck is probably bluetooth as using the usb cable is supposed to be closer to the 500-700 kBps, but unfortunatetly I haven't been able to get the Z to recognize my phone as a modem (samsung a920)

I'm getting the bluetooth card that cresho has. The ambicom with the little blue dude surfing away from the pc. A guy here in san jose has one but according to ebay it seems he has a couple. I noticed him in craigslist and compared it for ebay. Does anyone want me to ask about buying more than one. They are going for $35. I'll just pass the deal along.

QUOTE Why not? Is it crippled in some way? I was hoping it would work just like a normal internet connection so that I could use it anywhere I go. |
