I've been trying to install rdesktop on my C3200 running "Alice" 5.4.6 through the package manager, and have ben getting the following errors:
CODE zcat: //home/tmp/ipkg/rdesktop_1.5.0_armv5tel.ipk: not in gzip format tar: ./control.tar.gz: Not found in archive tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors zcat: stdin: unexpected end of file mv: unable to rename `//home/tmp/ipkg/rdesktop/control/*': No such file or directory Installing rdesktop... zcat: //home/tmp/ipkg/rdesktop_1.5.0_armv5tel.ipk: not in gzip format tar: ./data.tar.gz: Not found in archive tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors zcat: stdin: unexpected end of file zcat: //home/tmp/ipkg/rdesktop_1.5.0_armv5tel.ipk: not in gzip format tar: ./data.tar.gz: Not found in archive tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors zcat: stdin: unexpected end of file sed: //usr/lib/ipkg/info/rdesktop.control: No such file or directory grep: //usr/lib/ipkg/info/rdesktop.control: No such file or directory /usr/bin/ipkg: line 800: [: rdesktop: unary operator expected Done. Any ideas? A known good package? |

If you downloaded the file using a web browser it is possible that the browser automatically unzipped the ipk (which is just a tar.gz file).

QUOTE(jfv @ Jul 27 2007, 10:45 AM) If you downloaded the file using a web browser it is possible that the browser automatically unzipped the ipk (which is just a tar.gz file). Download and install were both done through the package manager using the feeds already configured. I tried rdekstop 1.5 and 1.3.1(?) and neither worked. |

QUOTE Any ideas? A known good package? Hi, 1.5.0 appears to be broken in the tyranozaurus feeds. Try 1.3.1 from http://zaurus.spy.org/feeds/cacko/pdaXrom/1.1.0/beta3/feed The feed should be available in your /etc/ipkg.conf file Just remember to comment out the tyranozaurus feeds first, and run CODE ipkg update first Works OK for me. I downloaded rdesktop 1.3.1 from the above feed using Firefox (on the Z), and was able to install without any problems. I was also able to successfully use my DD-WRT router for SSH tunneling.

While running install-fixbeta3.sh on my c750 w/beta1 and 15.1Mb free on /, I'm getting "out of space on device" error about half way through the install(/mnt/cf/custom> install-fixbeta3.sh / upgrade). Partition has been resized to 57 during install of beta1.
Any suggestions on how to complete the installation? Thnx, Gorth |
