If i understand right, in the settings tab i have usb icon and in that applet i have the options ( i think) to mount my cf or sd card as a thumb drive when i plug my 6000 into a usb port on my computer. I have tried this both with the "usb host cable" and the dock without luck. Am I thinking about this correct? does this work for others?

Yes it seems you are thinking correctly about this. My cf card shows up on my desktop computer as a "thumb" drive. You do not use the host cable for this. Your drive has to be vfat formatted if you are running windows on the desktop.

you need to use the client cable for this, not the host cable.

Don't worry about - I feel silly all the time... tongue.gif

Yes, the cable that hooks into the dock. There is some info here on using the 6000 as a USB key; maybe it helps with pdaXrom too:

I haven't tried it because I have no need, but it doesn't sound too hard.

I guess that implys that I would have to use the dock anytime i want to use the zaurus as a usb flash dirve. That sorta takes away from the usablity. Thanks for the info.

Good point - maybe you can get a cable that plugs into the cradle connector on the Z instead of the host USB port?
