I am looking to buy a SL-C3100 or an SL-C3200, but I haven't seen anybody (stores, I mean) selling 3100s anymore. Is there a place that still sells them (for less than a 3200)? Also, the price of a 3200 at both Pricejapan and Conics jumped up a ton! Is there a reason for that that anybody knows of, and will it go back down in the near future?
I'm in the US. Thanks! |

Your best bet would be to email conics, streamlinecpus and dynamism and see if they have any. The 3100 has been discontinued since March so, I highly doubt you could find a brand new one. I also noticed the sick price increase and posted new topic asking about it. You can find it here. |

Just in case anybody doesn't know/cares, Conics now has used SL-C3100s for sale.
They seem to be doing something with their servers, however. Does anybody know how long it will take before they're back up (try going to theire site to see what I mean)? Thanks! |

I looked at Conics site several days ago and the used C3100 was selling for about $100.00 more than a new C3200.
(I don't remember the exact price. I cannot connect to Conics today to check it) I am hoping to purchase a second C3100 in February '07 If I cannot find a C3100 at that time, I may just get a new C3200. I've read somewhere that the processor on the C3200 was changed to a different revision from what the C3100 has. |

yep, processor is changed as well as networks. No ad-hoc available. overclocking is almost none-existent.

I honestly don't care about overclocking. I believe that the price of SL-C3200s has been at $577 at Conics and $560 at PriceJapan, while the SL-C3100 is $460 at Conics for a week or two now. I just want to order one for under $500! It also seems that according to the thread mentioned above that the price of Sl-C3200s won't come down for a while.
If the Sl-C3200 is cheaper, I'll get that, but I really don't need the extra storage, so I don't mind going for an SL-C3100. |

OMG!
This is the first I've heard of the 3200 CPU getting 'downgraded' (no oc'ing)- no wonder conics are selling old 3100's for more. I'd much rather have the capability to run at 624Mhz than 2GB more MD space. Sad! |
