Can I buy screen protectors that will work for the C1000, at stores like BestBuy and Staples etc?
Got a free one, and its already horrible, and have removed it. |

Go here, this is where I bought my SL-C3100 and accessories that are not available at local stores, such as Best Buy, Radioshack...
http://www.streamlinecpus.com/store/produc...page=1&featured That is the screen protector link. They are very good screen protectors. |

I don't know what they sell at the stores you mention (not being in the US!), but if you can find any screen protectors to fit the Dell Axim X50v/x51v - they will work perfectly as they have the same size screen. Make sure they are for the x50v/51v though not just the plain x50/x51 which have a smaller (3.5inch diag v 3.7inc diag) screen. HTH BTW - I just realised that the DS lite stylus is the same size as the one from my C1000. At last a cheap source for a replacment metal stylus! |

Yes, StreamlineCPU's screen protectors are a bit more expensive, but once you have one of these in place, they last a very long time and are practically invisible.
Just try one, you won't regret it. The Zaurus's fantastic looking screen deserves the best. (Just my opinion, but I don't understand why persons that purchase a Zaurus want to buy cheap stuff to go with it. I always want the best for my 'Z') That's just MY opinion, don't take it seriously. |

Streamline is the one I got with my C1000. I got it on well, but there was a big spec of something under it, very annoying, Took off, and reapplied, even worse.. I even cleaned it. But, still horrible. I made sure to clean the screen well with cloth etc, but stuff just gets attracted to it.
I may try the Axim type. If one doesn't work, I don't want to spend alot on just one screen protector. |

Honestly, I have been using my Zaurus C1000 without, yes, you heard correct
Apart from the occasional finger marks, which I just rub away and polish on my shirt front occasionally, there is no blemish on the screen. I mean, such a bright and clear screen as the Zaurus, should not be wasted being covered with screen protectors (ducking, from the stones thrown my way) |

Late yeah, seriously, if you spend $xxx on a device, then you surely spending an additional $x isn't very much considering that it can protect your Z from damage. my screen protector got scratched quite visibly and i had to replace it. just imagine if there was no screen protector and i had to replace the screen... now that would be costly and time consuming! |

The x50v's will work on a 3100 as well, they just don't cover the soft buttons on the right of the screen. No clue who makes the one I have, I got it when I had the Dell for a week. Worst pocket pc I've ever owned. |

I've found it best to apply screen protectors in the bathroom after getting it nice and steamy to prevent dust settling on the screen while applying the protector. I also use a can of compressed air as a final step before applying the protector, as even good lint-free cloth can get dust or fibers on it that it then leaves on the screen. I've also found that while most screen protector manufacturers say that you can remove, clean, and re-apply the protectors, I just haven't found one that I was happy with after doing this. I've tried a lot of brands on my palms, and just came to the conclusion that I buy 2 at a time, in case I screw up with the first one, and then I just replace with a new one when the time comes. I'm using the Boxwave ClearTouch, which is the same brand I used on my Palm Tungsten C & liked. I'm not as happy with it for the Z, as it is just a bit too short in the widest dimension, and imparts a slight waviness. I'm using the anti-glare version, so the non-anti-glare version (CrystalClear?) might be better. I do like the stylus feel with the Boxwaves. |
