Anandtech reviewed the Ockel Sirius A pocket computers. They're somewhat similar to the GPD pocket in specifications, only better, but lack the keyboard.

If you were happy with Windows or Linux tablet and would only occasionally need a physical keyboard, it might be a usable alternative.

I just bought one of these fire use with my Android phone (LG v20) and it works very well, the keyboard shortcuts for cut/copy/paste work, as do the media controls for volume and next/previous. Track pad good too.

If the price was a lot better it might be worth considering instead of the gpd pocket.

I stumbled on the fact that Zaurus.org and Zaurus.info were available to register, so I grabbed them whilst the going was good, I didn't want to let them fall into the hands of spammers and scammers.

I hereby donate them to the community. It wasn't expensive to register them both - Godaddy promo!

I propose that another admin sets up a fresh Godaddy or Gandi.net account (I'd prefer Gandi) which is specifically for these domains, and we admins share the username/admin details so that we avoid the problems we've faced with previously expiring domains.

Then we try and get this website/forum to accept zaurus.org as an alternative address?

Is there any value in setting up email forwarding so xyz@zaurus.org will work?

if you boot linux on this device, does the microHDMI fully work? Can you run dual-head displays, or does it just mirror the video to both internal and external monitors?

I think this is an interesting accessory for a Moto Z series of phones, where you have the "moto mod" connector

The main advantage is that the accessory might outlive a couple of generations of phone. There's good evidence that Lenovo are going to continue to make phones with moto mod capability.

It appears that GPD did some improvements and came our with a V2. It has a different eMMC, better fitting buttons and a slightly different case - matte finish.

However, reports from HotUkDeals suggests some people have been unlucky in getting a chimera, which is part old and part new version.

The old model's eMMC is supposedly slightly faster but it shouldn't make a difference in the real world.

So if you're buying one, it's worth checking which version you're getting, especially if buying used.
