Please help, as I am nearly at my wits end. I have a Netgear MA701 card, SL5500 running the latest Sharp ROM. Wireless networking is working just fine, as long as a network is present. Kismet, kismet_qt, etc. all work. However, I would like to scan using kismet between networks. My problem is, if no network is present, the card turns itself off. Is this preventable? It would be nice if I could turn my WiFi card on, and have it stay on. I believe I've tried everything but the proper thing smile.gif

Thanks in advance,
Bill

There is a way to do this. I haven't yet, but there are some fairly extensive threads and should be a how-to in the doc section. I haven't the time right now to set it all up and my Z is working wonderfully and I don't want to even think about changing it. try searching for kismet and 3.10.

Good Luck

THis is what you're looking for:
http://www.timekiller.org/howtos/kismet-5600.html

That works for either 5500 or the 5600. I'd add more, but this guy's nice enough to cover it all! Good luck!
