I was wondering what else would I need to get a VNC connection to my Powerbook or if I can even do that at all.
I have the VNC viewer installed on my zaurus but I was wondering what else is needed...even on a pc or linux box. Sorry if this is very newb question but thats what I am but I want to learn. |

You will need the vnc server installed on the machine you want to connect to.
Also you will need a working network connection between the zaurus and the server. Whatch out if you have a firewall on your machine, either add the vnc ports into the firewall or disable it for testing. get vnc server for your pc/powerbook here :- http://www.realvnc.com/ That's it really. |

holy crap!! this thing is so cool!!
Thanks a lot guys, I didnt know I needed a server...now that I look at it I couldnt believe I didnt realize that myself but thanks for the help anyways guys, really appreciate it. |

oh man, something went wrong...I installed the VNC server on my Z and rebooted and now it will not respond to my stylus...does anybody know what to do now.
Help please |

okay, the last two post was me, but I uninstalled VNC server on my Z860 and now its back to normal. Does anybody know why this was happening and how to fix it?

Ah Ha! I'm running Special pre-emptive kernel on a 5600 and the code is supposedly based on an 860. Since upgrading, I've had a problem with VNC server as well. The Zaurus will become unresponsive, when I try to start apps they don't start or seg fault and within a couple of minutes the Zaurus goes back to the count-down part of the boot process.
I tried going back to the Sharp v1.32 ROM and VNC worked fine. I re-installed the special version and the problem is back. I've tried capturing the output from VNCServer's errors but there doesn't appear to be much there. |
