I am building a carputer using linux and just had an idea.....
Is there any kind of interface for full blown linux that has a similar interface to the Zaurus/Qt? Having the desktop put to good use with links/buttons that can be taped on with a stylus would be very usefull in situations withoug a keyboard. I know the linuxice distro has some good stuff but I'm looking for a little different layout. Any ideas? |

PdaXrom uses a desktop similar to what QT has (ie, finger-friendly). You can just install matchbox on a standard distro and you have it (mostly) set up.

Any ideas? yes, you can build qtopia for x86 using the same sources as those for zaurus. in fact, this is how I test my programs before running on Zaurus, just fire up the qvfb (qtopia virtual frame buffer) on x86 and run the qtopia app. the nokia n770 or n800 with Canola is a great media player; just use a wireless NAS like the Asus 2.5R thingummy and samba! |

Linpus really looks like Xandros on the Eee PC (even the tabs and the programs included!), but a bit more polished.
