I seem to remember a distro that let you use the speaker that does keyclicks to play other sounds. In particular I remember playing a movie on my 5500 that I could hear without headphones.
Anyone remember this? Was it a kernel driver or something? Michael |

There were patches for this - they added collie buzzer as /dev/dsp1 so you can choose does sound has to go to headphones or to buzzer. We have that patch in OpenEmbedded but we do not apply it - too much problems.
