Dump Outlook 2003 and Microsoft or dump your Zaurus? It's up to you.
You could also revert to the previous version of Outlook. Again, it's up to you. It's very bad that again a MS compititor has problem with a MS new software. Shame, shame, shame on Sharp! They are so stupid to use Linux. They should produce Pocket PC device and use Active Sync to stay compatible with MS for ever. |

I've noticed on my C860 running Cacko rom that I can sync with Office 2003 by setting the pc link to USB - I/O on both the pc and Zaurus. When I set the pc link to USB - TCP/IP the sync looks like its going to work but then fails. I assumed Intelasync with Office 2003 works over USB - I/O but does not work over USB - TCP/IP. Syncing my calender and email is very important to me and its not that difficult to switch between the two modes so I just switch as required. Note that you can not use TCP/IP reliant applications over USB - I/O so if you use such apps (like telnet or ssh) you will need to switch between the two modes.
Hope that helps. |

try not syncing the calendar. This allows me to sync the contacts/notes/todo with Outlook XP (2002) as Exchange client. Can't get calendar sync to work though.

I was also happily working with Outlook 2000 and Exchange. I was then upgraded to Outlook 2003.
The first time I tried to sync with 2003, I ran into problems. It seemed to work when Outlook was offline but not when it was online. I found that uninstalling the Zaurus software on Windows and re-installing solved my problem. Note that doing this will delete the watermarks from the Windows side and cause a full sync to happen. I upgraded to Outlook 2003 last week. Intellisync appeared to be syncing, but the data was not being copied even though the PC apps all looked and acted the same as before.
To fix this I uninstalled and reinstalled the sync programs from the sharp CD. as Ernie suggested above QUOTE Quoting hallerec

Note that doing this will delete the watermarks from the Windows side and cause a full sync to happen. Ernie Unfortunately the first time I synchronized after that it wanted to duplicate (double) the entries in outlook and on the Zaurus. Two ways I have handled this in the past.... When intellisync tells you it is a different sync than before(sorry I don't remember the exact message) 1. Cancel the syncronization 2. Create a temp folder for each of the items you synchronize. 3. move all of the items from the folders into the non-syncing temp folders 4. syncronize 5. at this point you have a copy of what is in the Z in outlook. you can either delete it all from outlook and resync (which clears the data from the Zaurus) then move it back from temp folders from above and sync one more time. or..... Delete all PIM data on the Zaurus from terminal CODE rm /home/zaurus/Applications/dtm/*
reboot the Zaurus (to recreate the PIM files) sync with the PC |

I was having problems with Outlook XP and syncing, and the problem stems from a corrupt *.pst file in Outlook. I could import contacts and to-do tasks, but not Calendar. Found a fix (sort of) which I documented here: http://www.zaurususergroup.com/index.php?n...t=4165&start=15

It half way works. You can sync the calendar and addresses. You must choose the correct folder when setting up or it has an error and closes.

I'm dredging this up again because Office 2k3 was installed here at my office.
I can sync fine with my default calendar (after re-install of intellisync), but I cannot sync with the exchange calendar I work with. Has anyone successfully gotten this to work? I notice in the Intellisync Options, the '+' signs after calendar, mail, notes, etc do not allow me to select public folders anymore. |
