Sl-c700 Need Advise About Pdf / Customize And Gaim Options

Hello i got a zaurus sl c700 and i try to play and install some nice stuff . i came from windows world so i try to be honest

i sux for some package installs .

i got a Qtopia Os on it and i woudlike to customize it a bit .


im in trouble cuz i have installed pdfviewer and gaim and it workz ...but i have a resolution issue and some icons arent visibile so it doenst work infact///

the screen say : please wait / and rotate with a strange resolution problem

coud u tell me if my 700 coud be enough to launch those progz ..


Wifi card works perfect and i have a cf card with enough memory .

i forgot to ask if it was possible to sync my zaurus with wifi ?

i also need to custom more so if u no some good url for newbies ;p

in terminal type ipkg install nameofthepacage.ipk from feed

i got a Qtopia Os on it and i woudlike to customize it a bit .

go to http://my-zaurus.narod.ru/cacko.html - Cacko site and flash it to cacko 1.22 you wont regret it

This happens because you are installing verzions that are compiled for Z5xxx series, just tap and hold the icon until screen appears, uncheck "Magnify" option

no problrm running it on cacko 1.22 rom - on C700, qpdf and gaim works perfectly

no problem shaolin, not so long ago, i was a beginner in Z world
but thanx to good people here ... now im a solid user

ive got C700 too, my advice flash it to Cacko 1.22 , the best eyecandy and funcionality so far ( PIM sync works on WIndows and linux) on Win XP, just install intellisync and on your network settings choose Sharpp USB i/o, on linux it is a bit complicated, in time youll get the hang of it!

pop sync works flawlessly but only on outlook, not outlook express, but you can make a pop account under opie -mail and retrieve mail via BT, irda,Wifi or usb. all in ZUG howtos

Mhh im lucky to find somone who take advantage of his zaurus ;p and now how to use like a Confirmed Master ;p [ ok we all started at this point ]

i choose the more heavyer and add the hotfix / wifi is working fine and all is secure thx i will check on the feed to personnalise it ;p


i will also read carefully all links about wireless and check the others url with nice tips ;p and war - irlesss that u drop me:p



i just still got a small probz u talked about sync with Qtopia with Usb

i dunno for u but here i have by default a qtopia 1.5.4 into my Z core .

The problem is when i try to synchronise with my PC /// i have the Pack with softwares and the Qtopia desktop version is 1.5.5 :(the error message tell me that i cant match and the version dont accept to Synch
Maybe there is a tips but i already went to websites its seems that i cannot find an old qtopia desktop anymore cuzz firm change his way to act


any idea ? maybe update 1.5.4 from the Core Z to 1.5.5 if its a possibility ?

i coud try with outlook otherwise ... but calendar was not supported on my last version ;p maybe it will arrange now
