Hi,
I'm trying to install openttd from the feed (openttd-0.4.0-r0). I added the missing files from the original ttd, but when I try to run it, i get: Error: No available language packs Your sample.cat file is corrupted or missing! any ideas? |

got it... some missing files in the package, and ill-defined path.
first, the missing files: autorail.grf canalsw.grf dosdummy.grf openttd.grf opentitle.dat signalsw.grf trkfoundw.grf Apperantly openttd searches for the "data" folder in "usr/share/games/openttd/data" and not "/usr/share/games/openttd/data". So the game has to be ran from the root ("/") directory or else the game won't find the "data" folder. p.s. You must have these files from the original ttd game: trg1r.grf trgcr.grf trghr.grf trgir.grf trgtr.grf sample.cat |

Glad you got it sorted out. Are the missing files ones that are required from the game, or are they freely available (and therefore should be added to the ipk)? Also, does the path thing affect running the program from the desktop icon? Si |

QUOTE Are the missing files ones that are required from the game, or are they freely available (and therefore should be added to the ipk)? Now that you mention that, I think that the files that are in the package are the copywrited ones... I'm not sure though, this should be verified. QUOTE Also, does the path thing affect running the program from the desktop icon? what desktop icon? I didn't have any desktop icon installed, after working around the bug I wrote one myself. YoG. |
