Hi. Setting up the opiereader to do translation for japanese words. However, tapping the screen to select text only results in the screen scrolling forward and backwards. I suppose this may be a dumb qn but what did i do wrong?

First you need in Settings>Misc select Dictionary in Select Action field. Hope you have zbedic installed.
Next move to the Locale tab and set Aplication:zbedic, Message:find, Two/One Touch:ON, Swap Tap Actions:OFF. Press OK to save the settings. Now you just need to tap start and then end of a word to launch zbedic in find mode. Hope this helps, suruaZ |

Oh. I was reading some docs which mentioned using "zbedic/find" for the dictonary string. Thanx for the help.

Doh! I didn't read surauZ post properly and just re-iterated almost exactly what he said. But I will add that I don't use this functionality very much so do let me know if you have any problems.
BTW, ideogram mode (Just to the left of the dictionary settings) was added to help support Japanese text display so may be worth trying - but I think in practice most people stick with the standard mode. |
