anyone actually find a way to change this? i found /root/.profile it has PS1="# " and I changed this to the standard linux configuration, with no change. Any idea's?

not there....there is no /home/zaurus/.profile

I've got the following (in /etc/profile, but ~/.profile is fine as well)
CODE PS1="\[\033[01;31m\]\h \[\033[01;34m\]\W \$ \[\033[00m\]"
