I am a new Zaurus owner & have tried to install free software that is mainly workable on SL5500. I have been downloading software from http://www.killefiz.de/zaurus/ mainly, & I haven't found any software sites that stock a good amount of software for my SL-C3200. Please post any good software sites for C3x00's.
Thanks |

okay.
for the roms we have openzaurus pdaxrom cacko 1.23 sharprom bsd now for the software-you need to tell us what you are running. There are TONS! of software that run on the cxxxx series. make a signature so people can help you better! just ask a question and people will be happy to help! I currently play full movies on my zaurus, have an extensive audio library with my 16gb diskspace, literally run over 2000 games on my zaurus, have the wikipedia on my zaurus hardrive, that is only for entertainment. It basically is my pc away from home. This post has been edited by Cresho: May 11 2007, 09:17 PM |

I am considering installing Cacko but am not too sure of the install process because I am new to Linux & Z. I'll do that when I have the confidence to do it. Sounds like you have an impressive amount of software on your Z. I have only found a few sites to get software. |

Start here : http://www.users.on.net/~hluc/myZaurus/
Just take your time to read it all or download the pdf version. (It's Meanie's site) Have fun, Chero. |

Thanks Chero for that link! I had bookmarked that link some weeks back. It looks like a good reference but my impression is that it's for pdaXrom & doesn't necessarily have reference to software for the sharp ROM. I'll keep looking through it anyway |

Actually, Meanie's zbook is more focused on SharpROM rather tham pdaXrom. The last time I read it was about a 60/40 split in SharpROMs favour.

if you are using the cacko rom on the c-3200, I recommend this file.
Here is a scenario. while browsing for your cf card or wifi or bluetooth, you realize it doesn't work or you cannot see the cf card in the file system. For some odd reason, it vanishes mysteriously! My answer is this! read this forum and look for my name and the file attachment. http://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=18999&hl= to solve the issue with the cf problem after a reboot or a resume suspend which sometimes occurse, i created an executable located in the multimedia section called "cf-refresh" and what this does it refreshes the card for you so you do not need to physically pull the card out and reinsert it back in to make it work. Try it! YOU REALLY NEED IT! |

Try it! YOU REALLY NEED IT! Yeah, I just flashed Cacko today. Looks allot better than the part Japanese Sharp ROM. I've read good things about Cacko & it's hardware support. And sounds like a good idea if you think I'll need to refresh my CF. Will take your word for it - Thanks! |
