Start the cups daemon: CODE /etc/rc.d/init.d/cups start If you already have a cups server running on your network then you can list the useable printers: CODE # lpstat -p printer Epson700 is idle. enabled since Fri 12 May 2006 12:16:15 PM UTC printer HP1100A is idle. enabled since Fri 12 May 2006 12:16:16 PM UTC Then set a default printer: CODE # lpoptions -d HP1100A printer-info='HP LaserJet 1100A' printer-is-accepting-jobs=1 printer-is-shared=1 printer-make-and-model='HP LaserJet 1100A Foomatic/ljet4 on wurzel' printer-state=3 printer-state-change-time=1147436176 printer-state-reasons=none printer-type=12294 Check that it works: CODE lpr /etc/passwd

Ghostscript 8.50-GPL
description http://www.cs.wisc.edu/~ghost/ Ghostscript is the name of a set of software that provides: - An interpreter for the PostScript language, with the ability to convert PostScript language files to many raster formats, view them on displays, and print them on printers that don't have PostScript language capability built in; - An interpreter for Portable Document Format (PDF) files, with the same abilities; - The ability to convert PostScript language files to PDF (with some limitations) and vice versa; and - A set of C procedures (the Ghostscript library) that implement the graphics capabilities that appear as primitive operations in the PostScript language. download http://mail.pdaxrom.org/contrib/desertrat/...50_armv5tel.ipk notes The main reason I compiled this is to be able to create PDF files. Abiword and Gnumeric in Beta3 are now able to print to postscript files (printing to PDF results in an complete mess). Using Ghostscript's ps2pdf program it is possible to convert the postscript output into a PDF file. The standard core 35 postscript fonts are not included in this package. They are not needed if you're only doing PS -> PDF conversion. |
