I've recently been using Dillo again, and the screenshots I see have color backgrounds. How do people do this? I turn off allowing white BGs, but they persist.
Thanks. |

Click on the lower-left color chip. (it is shown in white in the first screenshot)
This will bring up the color wheel and 6 color values that can be changed in numerical value. Second screenshot shows that chip as a blue hue. Make sure to save your settings with the "save" button and exit the settings dialog. Restart Dillo. Look at my third screenshot, the background of the text areas on the "Welcome" page are now that blue hue. EDIT: You may need to check "Force My Colors" for some pages. I don't know for sure, as I haven't ever used this option.

![]() ![]() ![]() I knew about that, but what about these screenshots (from the home page)? They look like they have dynamic BG color switching. |

Hi Capnfish,
I installed your dillo-i18n package but I don't get the same nice looking and well arranged slashdot.org page using dillo. Instead, I get this

The normal Dillo from the feed? I haven't tried that. Do you get the fancy backgrounds with it?

No...not the normal Dillo from the feed, the dillo coming from your package dillo 0.8.6 i18n. I have never seen dynamic color backgrounds with it nor a well looking slashdot page as you have.
I should have been clearer, sorry. By the way, using dillo xft 0.8.5 from beta3 feed, I have the same ugly looking slashdot page |

That's my problem. Those aren't my screenshots. I want my Dillo to render like that, but can't figure out how to make it do so. I enabled all of the graphical stuff except for the download GUI (requires FLTK2).

Definately. It still works pretty well, though.

Ok, I thought those screenshots were yours. it would be indeed awesome if we could get the same rendering.

I talked to the Dillo devs, and they say that those screenshots are really old, and thus before, say, /. started using CSS. Now what we get is normal. I didn't learn anything about color backgrounds, but I suspect it's a similar thing.
