On the sl-5500 with Sharp rom v 3.13, where is the handwriting recognition training data kept?

The default character set plagued me, so I trained mine to recognize graffiti. I have a complete backup of the PDA from that time. I've since done a full reset, and got it back running pretty well, but would like to import the previous training information instead of retraining it.

I've got a "full backup" here on my windows PC, and renamed it, adding .tar.gz to the fileneme, and it looks like I can access the whole filesystem. Where do I look?

Thanks.

Restoring a full backup should get your training data back as well. So I take it there is a good reason you don't want to restore the backup unsure.gif

Have a look at $HOME/Applications/qimpen (with $HOME most likely being /home/zaurus on an unmodified Sharp 3.13 ROM). It should contain asciilower.qpt, asciiupper.qpt and numeric.qpt containing the respective data.

Best regards,
Chris.

Good information, chrget!

I copied the old files into that directory and it recognized the training.

I didn't want to do the restore because I wanted to start from scratch again. This helped me recover from lots of bad installs / uninstalls that left me with very little free internal storage space. The zaurus is happier now.

Thanks.
