I have been using Sharp stock rom for quite a while, and would like to try Cacko. In the installation steps, there is a step to resize the root partition to 19Mb for Cacko Lite.
Is this a must to do so? If it is not, what are the pros and cons of resizing the root partition? Thanks! |

Thanks! you don't have to do that, but it would be better if you did. the reason is that the flash is split into root and home partition. applications get installed to the home partition. making the root partition smaller means increasing the home partition so you have more space available to install more applications. |

Thanks, Meanie!
If I would like to restore to Sharp rom later, do I need to re-partition it again? |

no. You use the nand restore and an original nand backup like from conics.net to restore it. Before you do anything, go into the service menu and create yourself a nand backup.
The service does all the partitioning for you...I am assuming you are using the c1000 or the c-3200 or c3100 without modifying the microdrive. |

Thanks, Cresho!
I am using SL-C3200 now. One more question before I change to Cacko... What programs/drivers are included in Cacko Lite? I'd like to know so that I don't need to duplicate the installation. Also, I presume that all programs run in Sharp rom could also be run on Cacko. Please let me know if I am wrong. Cheers! |

Looks like I've got an answer to my question after reading some other threads!
"3. Have a look at the cacko feeds - everything named lite is not installed on the lite rom, it was designed so that people could get a bare bones system to adapt as they see fit." |
