Hello,
I am new to the OZ thing and was wondering if someone out there could give me a tip on something. I tried installing Firefox but found it took too much memory, so I uninstalled it. Problem is I'm still finding even with Firefox removed there is a lot of memory gone now. From what I've read about ipkg install, it downloads the package files to a directory. I figure the reason I've lost a lot of space is because the package files are still in my memory taking up space. Does anybody know where the Ipkg puts the packages it downloads, basically what directory? Thanks, VirtusRex |

It should download and extract them somewhere under /tmp, which is mounted as a tmpfs (in RAM).
Try rebooting, you may find that the jffs2 garbage collector just hasn't got round to reclaiming the (flash) space used by firefox before you uninstalled it. Si |
