I hope this isn't something to do with the screen flickering mentioned in pinned thread, or I wouldn't have started this thread. My problem is just that on wake-up any open applications crash while they flash on and off the screen. Dillo seems to survive, but big apps like Firefox crash, or at best get backgrounded.

I am presently running the beta but might go back to an earlier rc if no one can help. I am not convinced it is the beta though, as I saw it happen with rc12 before I reflashed.

Thanks!

Yes, I have the same problem with my c3k/beta1.1.0, but I thoght this was only c3k pdaX problem, because my old c760 did this very rarely, at least with >= RC10. It goes off when it wants (almost independent on light&power settings), and so far I've found no reliable way to fix it. And when I try to turn it back on, it very often does nothing.

My c860 occasionally experiences similar problems, especially if I suspend the Zaurus while it is running a program either stored on my microdrive or accessing data on my microdrive (a Seagate ST1 from a Rio Carbon), but not if I'm using a traditional flash CF card. I guess it doesn't get re-initiallized propperly or something (as it has to spin up and stuff). My applications just die outright- are yours still there (just minimized) or do they go away entirely too?

Yes, then it seems to be the problem is in Microdrive mostly. I'm looking forward to collecting $400 and replacing it with 8 Gb flash card... rolleyes.gif

No nothing to do with having a microdrive in my case (damn).

I think I am going to do a total reflash. I remember having problems a long time ago with when waking up from suspend resulted in a sort of freeze where I could move the cursor but nothing would respond to being clicked and the keyboard did not respond. Reflashing did not help until I did a reflash changing the size of partitions. Perhaps I will try that again.

Seems to me a lot of problems with the Z revolve around coming out of sleep.

Has anyone found a fix for this? And by this I mean: "waking up from suspend resulted in a sort of freeze where I could move the cursor but nothing would respond to being clicked and the keyboard did not respond"

Mine has started to do it when I close and open the lid sometimes. sad.gif

...and sorry, just to confirm...
the suspend/wakeup issues are not tied to the Window Manager (Matchbox), right? It's an issue with the pdaXrom kernel? or kernel module?

I've started not turning my Zaurus off until night time. I think I may keep that habit even after I reflash. Atleast until the problem gets fixed.

Antikx: sounds like problem with usbdcore modules reloading on suspend/resume - nothing you can do about it under 2.4-crapix I think..

Hi,

If the 2.4.x kernel is to blame (in general), why would the Sharp ROM function correctly
in this regard?

I was going to also ask if we could just move all the USB-related modules out of the
way, since I will not be using USB until my Z host cable arrives. But then I remembered
that I read that the SL-6000 builtin WIFI is USB-based.

Anyway, it will be nice when this issue is identified ad resolved... John

I have the same problem using a microdrive. I didn't test very much without though. I have to reboot.

miskins: I always suspected that Sharp released fscked kernel source - how you will not try to build it it has to suxx...

Anyway problem does not exist under 2.6 kernel wink.gif

I never had problems resuming the Z except when it fell asleep while xmms was still running.
