dry.gif I just don't have the expertise to compile this:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/sagcad

Has some nice features and looks good but somehow I just can't seem to get it to compile into a program. biggrin.gif

I'll give it a try.

BTW : QCad runs on pocketworkstation (see "debian on pdaxrom" thread for more info). It doesn't support polylines though, only the commercial version does.

Have fun,
Chero.

Chero
I have had the best luck with the SuSE source. Four functions seem to be the most Trouble, 1 in command.c and 3 in etc.c. Hope that info helps.

In following link, you can find sagcad for pdaXrom. I did not check if it works or not. Good luck!

Try it, it tells me that you have to put an initial config and then segfaults but all the DOCS are in DE and i can' t understand.
Put in your config and let me know.
BYEZ

P.S. Appears a window telling this exactly
An initial setting file wasn' t found out.
Set environment immediately after start-up
Attached File(s)
Attached File  sagcad_0.9.6_armv5tel.ipk ( 1.08MB ) Number of downloads: 35

I have the same window and segfault. The second time you try to start, it's without this window, "only" the segfault stays. A $HOME/.sagcad is created the first time.
I'll check whether I can find something in the docs, but my german-knowledge is very small and I don't have high hopes cause the same thing happens in pocketworkstation, so I think it's got to do something with "arm".

Chero i think that is something relating to the libiconv, i' ve got problems in compilation about that.

I'm no expert in this, but I get the feeling that iconv.h can be provided by "glibc(libc6)" or by "libiconv". Is there a difference between them ?

When I try compiling with the iconv.h from the zgcc-image, I get "iconv not found". If I compile libiconv (prefix=/usr) first, I don't get the error, but I can't get past the "test"-routine in src/etc.c

I can't read any of the comments in the source (they are japanese ?), so I don't know whether it's save to leave the test-routine out. When I do leave it out, I get the same result as the downloaded ipk. (segfault)

Can't the segfault have anything to do with the size of reals ("comparison is always true due to limited size of data type"). I can imagine a CAD app needs a lot of them.
Some time ago I compiled QGis (pocketworkstation). It runs but I can't get any maps rendered. I was told that it had to to with "the limited size of data type".
If there's a way to solve this, I'm all ears. Having CAD and GIS on the Z would really rock.

I had a quick look at the docs, from what I understand the first run of sagcad should be from the source dir. Maybe that's why the ipk doesn't work.

Sure you are right it maybe.
But if it's the real type why it try to open an initial window before doing a copy of config file? No i think it' s related to many things, one is the Japanese format and libiconv issue as u said, one is related to the config file and other can be the ruby tools implementation. I think it will be a big hassle to make it work but we can try. Offcourse if u can find an English native utillities would be better and easyer to compile and learn, as the Sagcad documentation is in Japanese or German.
Tomorrow, that i have time i will do some check.
