I'm downsizing and decided to part with my Zaurus and stuff. I enjoyed the Zaurus and this community a lot, but it's time.
The list of what I am parting with is below. Here is the deal. It's all free. The reason is that I don't want to deal with payment options for what I expect is not very much, plus I don't want to deal with shipping. Now here is the catch. First, you (or a friend) will have to pick up the lot in person in Austin, TX. Second, you have to be an established member of this forum. Ideally, I'd prefer it to go to a developer, but anybody who has been here a while and contributed positively is eligible. PM or post if you are interested or have any questions.

I flashed the multiboot kernel as on Omegamoon's blog. I had created a tarball of my Sharp ROM filesystem and I used the Zubuntu filesystem as well. I parttioned a 2GB SD card for those two ROMs. The Zaurus boots and I get the splash screen where I can choose the ROM. Zubuntu boots, with a few issues, some of which have been resolved in other threads, that's fine. But the Sharp ROM doesn't and that's a big problem for me. There is no boot option from internal flash, just the two options from the card.
When trying to boot the Sharp ROM, it finds the kernel and starts the boot, but then it complains that there is no inittab file and it can't open /etc/ioctl.save. (I checked and the files are there in the filesystem). Then it asks for a runlevel. I've tried all possibilities 1-6 and always get the sane error about no /etc/ioctl.save and "no more processes left in this runlevel" and it hangs there.
I also tried to recover my Zaurus. I can't get to the D-M menu and so I cannot do a NAND restore. I tried reflashing and it appeared to do so, but then it got back to the multiboot kernel.
Any suggestion to get the Sharp ROM back is appreciated.
edit: got to D+M menu after a few more tries and I'm doing a NAND restore, but won't try zubuntu again before getting more guidance.

Lately, when I have my Zaurus (C860) opened about 135 degrees (usual position for typing on a flat surface) sometimes the screen just falls back to a 180 degree position. I guess the hinge is getting a bit loose and can't support the weight of the screen. Does anybody have a suggestion? Would it be something that is easy to fix if I opened it up? It would be a shame for this to be the end of an otherwise perfectly functioning device. It's not bad at the moment, just happens occasionally but I can see it will just get worse.
