Hello!
I have a SL-5500G with 3 year old OpenZaurus package installed (opie 0.9.3, OZ3.2). I am looking for a way to backup all the internal memory (kernel, root fs, what else?) as an flash-able image. The idea is, to have a initrd and a kernel file which I can use to restore the current state by reflashing my Z. Thanks BjoKa |

The other approach is to look for initrd and zImage files for the rom you prefer and then to use the backup/restore program that most roms possess. As you can see from my sig I have settled for the tkcROM for my 5500s. I found the Sharp 3.10 and 3.13 roms to be pretty useful but the OZ/OPIE varieties gave me lots of hassles. There is a pdaxrom available for the 5500 and if you like tinkering/hacking you might like that. Good luck |
