Ever wanted to link your Psion to your Zaurus? Well, now you can.
plptools is a linux project (plptools Sourceforge site) which allow you to access Psion organisers over serial or Irda links. I've built plptools 0.13 for the Zaurus - here it is - UPDATED
plptools_0.13_arm.ipk ( 286.83K )
Number of downloads: 26[Fixed problem where Z wouldn't boot after using plpnfsd Also fixed ncpd to use Irda as default ] To use it, line up your Psion and Zaurus infra red ports, copy the ipk onto the Z and do the following: QUOTE [root Install_Files]# ipkg install plptools_0.13_arm.ipk Unpacking plptools...Done. Configuring plptools...Done. [root Install_Files]# /etc/rc.d/init.d/irda start Starting IrDA: 1.1 Tue Nov 9 15:30:55 1999 Dag Brattli On the Psion, from the Shell, hit CTRL+L to get the link dialog, and set it to Irda, any baud rate. Wait 10 seconds, then: QUOTE [root Install_Files]# ncpd [root Install_Files]# plpftp PLPFTP Version 0.13 Copyright © 1999 Philip Proudman Additions Copyright © 1999-2002 Fritz Elfert <felfert@to.com> & © 1999 Matt Gumbley <matt@gumbley.demon.co.uk> PLPFTP comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY. Connected to a Series 5 at 38400 baud, OwnerInfo: Psion dir is: "C:\" > ls drw------- 0 Fri Jan 1 10:10:00 1999 System drw------- 0 Fri Jan 1 10:10:00 1999 Documents > cd Documents > ls -rw--a---- 17684 Fri Jan 1 13:20:26 1999 Welcome to Series 5mx -rw--a---- 548 Fri Jan 1 10:10:04 1999 Word -rw--a---- 413 Fri Jan 1 10:10:06 1999 Sheet -rw--a---- 676 Fri Jan 1 10:10:08 1999 Data -rw--a---- 1108 Fri Jan 1 10:10:12 1999 Agenda -rw--a---- 133 Fri Jan 1 10:10:22 1999 Sketch -rw--a---- 768 Fri Jan 1 10:10:22 1999 Jotter -rw--a---- 219 Fri Jan 1 13:13:18 1999 Comms -rw--a---- 97 Fri Jan 1 13:09:36 1999 Comms.nam > bye As well as simple FTP access it comes with the ability to mount the Psion: QUOTE [root Documents]# mkdir Psion [root Documents]# plpnfsd -d /home/zaurus/Documents/Psion/ Owner set to zaurus.qpe [root Documents]# ls Psion/ C: proc [root Documents]# ls Psion/C\:/ Documents System [root Documents]# ls Psion/C\:/Documents/ Agenda Data Sketch Comms Jotter Welcome to Series 5mx Comms.nam Sheet Word [root Documents]# Now, even better, you can browse the Psion using the Files tab from the Z home screen - see

Number of downloads: 26. Of course, you can't do much with the file formats, unless you build and install some of the file conversion tools, but for Psion owning Zaurus freaks out there it's a start! |

Got a fix for the reboot problem - plpnfsd is set in default config is to diddle with /etc/mtab (which is a symlink to /proc/mounts on Z). I'll rebuild it without this and post back.

I'm just wonder what for connect Zaurus to Psion as they have uncompatible file-types ?
I found better solution for my old Psion using it as IR keyboard for Zaurus suruaZ |
